The next Grandmont Rosedale SOUP is Sunday, May 18 at Always Brewing Detroit, 19180 Grand River.  $5 will get you soup, salad, bread, and a vote to support a community project.  The money you give will be donated to one of four projects for community improvement.  Doors will open at 5:30.   Each proposal will be introduced beginning at 6:30pm. There are four proposed projects.   The Grandmont #1 Improvement Association – Positive Youth Development Program hopes to win your votes to match their PYD Scholarship Program that is awarded to Grandmont #1 high school seniors. The Devine Relief proposal would provide free samples of holistic treatment for arthritis, gout, and headaches.  The Neighborhood Welcome Mural Preservation project, submitted by Minock Park resident Ken Wolfe, hopes to establish a fund to restore and preserve the mural on the GRDC offices at 19800 Grand River.  The Making a Neighborhood Impact project hopes to win your SOUP vote to give an island in Rosedale Park a makeover.  After you hear the proposals and vote, it’s time to eat!  A special performance from the Detroit-based Magenta Giraffe Theatre Company will accompany dinner.

SOUP is a great way to celebrate community.  No matter which project wins, we all win because they are all designed to make our community a better place to live.  So we’ll see you at ABD on Sunday, May 18th around 5:30, and don’t forget:  BYOB (Bring Your Own Bowl)!
