Michael Randall, Executive Director

Mike Randall came to GRDC in 2022 from the American Heart Association where he served as Senior Director of Community Impact. He led AHA’s Healthy Home project and their Faith Based Housing Initiative in partnership with Enterprise Community Partners.  He has also worked with Habitat for Humanity, the Ypsilanti Housing Commission, and the Washtenaw County Health Department, and served on the Ypsilanti Township Planning Commission and Ypsilanti Library Board. Mike is a graduate of the Urban and Regional Studies program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a soon-to-be-graduate of Wayne State University’s Master of Urban Planning program. As a Grandmont Rosedale resident, Mike turns his passion and expertise towards strengthening his community for his family, neighbors, and the broader city. Mike’s goal is to “expand our work and impact the lives of our neighbors while inviting new families to live and build businesses in our community. Let’s get to work!”

Becki Kenderes, Program Director

Becki Kenderes first joined GRDC in 2011 as Building Sustainable Communities Program Manager, successfully leading the organization through the implementation of the Grandmont Rosedale Quality of Life Plan—a strategic plan for improving the Grandmont Rosedale community over a five-year period. Now in her new role as Program Director, Becki oversees all of GRDC’s economic development and community engagement programs. Becki has more than 10 years of experience in community development and the non-profit sector. Most notably, Becki previously served as Michigan Humane’s Community Solutions Manager and Detroit Artists Market’s Exhibitions and Events Manager. She has also worked in a variety of clinical social work settings, serving a diverse range of clients. Becki holds a Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan with concentrations in community systems, public policy and program evaluation. In her free time, Becki enjoys spending time with her cat and dogs: Ella, Fitz and Gerald and advocating for furry friends everywhere.

Tom Ridgway, Construction and Facilities Manager

As a lifelong resident of Grandmont Rosedale, Tom brings a unique and varied amount of expertise to GRDC. Tom has managed volunteer projects, commercial development, and the Homeowner Home Repair Program, maintained the GRDC buildings, and in 2016, began leading our Acquisition / Development / Resale (ADR) Program. Tom evaluates houses for potential purchase, writes specifications for bidding and project management purposes, prepares project budgets, and oversees the bidding, construction and inspection of all of our ADR projects. He is a stickler for quality renovation, and has the patience and persistence to see complex projects through.

Jocelyn Moss, Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, Jocelyn Moss oversees the financial accounts and supports the day-to-day operations of our office. Jocelyn is responsible for keeping track of daily accounts receivables as well as accounts payable, manages credit card transactions, lease invoicing/ payments, and deposits. She also helps maintain the Executive Director’s schedule, the schedule of GRDC owned buildings, she handles all ordering of office needs, and manages all office equipment and technology.  If you have a question, Jocelyn probably has the answer. Jocelyn is also the founder of Body Zeal Products, a natural skincare business.

Chelsea Salame, Economic Development Manager

Former GRDC intern, Chelsea Salame has taken on the role of Economic Development Manager to help support small business growth in the community. Chelsea was one of twelve Community Based Initiative Fellows with the University of Michigan directed by Dr. Larry Gant. Before GRDC, Chelsea has worked closely with Detroit communities by engaging small businesses, artists, and musicians through philanthropic events and partnerships. Most importantly, Chelsea is excited to use her grant writing and project management skills to help build Grandmont Rosedale communities from within.

JeNiece Freeman-Holt, Program Specialist

JeNiece Freeman-Holt is a Challenge Detroit Fellow Alumna and GRDC’s Program Specialist. JeNiece’s primary duties include managing GRDC’s business development program at the Grand River WorkPlace, a co-working space located in the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhood. She runs the day-to-day operations and programming of Grand River WorkPlace, and also supports economic growth strategy development with the Economic Development Manager. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a focus on media and information from Michigan State University. JeNiece is a life-long Detroiter and proud to serve the Grandmont Rosedale community.
