• The historic West Outer Drive apartment buildings were built in 1939.
  • The apartments feature hardwood floors, lots of natural light, many original light fixtures, and original bathroom tile.
  • The renovations will include updated kitchens, updated heating and cooling, and new electrical and plumbing.
  • The building is considered part of an historic district and requires Historic District Commission approval for all exterior changes.
  • The existing apartment buildings feature 33 units. GRDC will add two more for a total of 35 units.
  • Units will include six 2-bedroom units, twenty-four 1-bedroom units, and five efficiencies (studios).
  • We expect to receive Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) funding.
  • Units will be affordable and rented to tenants at 60% Area Median Income (AMI), which currently (as of 11/2021) mean tenants need to have an income of $33,600 or less for one person or $38,400 for two people to qualify.
  • Renovation is expected to begin summer 2022.
  • Rents will likely range from $650 – $1000.
