What inspires you? In 1997 as a senior in high school, a friend of the family was getting married and she asked a good friend and me if we could help her out. We focused and worked and her wedding a great success. From then on we were known as the “event coordinators.” We created “Glorified Events,” a full-service event planning company. However, being so young, and at that time having no business concept, we did events for fun. We wanted to continue to do what we loved, but we know that we had to create a business plan. We worked in hospitality to get more experience, and we took business classes. We created Ooh So Fabulous Events, and began creating events all over the United States and Canada. We planned about 100 events a year, both large and small. My partner moved to another state, and so on my own I created Simply Elegant Events. As the Senior Event Coordinator and Event Logistics Director, I work with amazing clients, vendors, and venues. I consult with event spaces, churches and companies as well. I use my expertise and experience to help other companies grow!
Who is your ideal client? Business owners, venues, and churches are my ideal clients.
Why did you choose Grand River WorkPlace? The Grand River WorkPlace is right in between my home and places that I serve in the community. The centralized location makes it easy for my clients to find and to travel to.
What’s next? In five years I would like to be a consultant for other companies. I would be using my years of expertise to train their staff, hold seminars, workshops, and conferences.
