Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC) grieves with our community and nation over the senseless loss of life and repetitive occurrence of brutality against Black Americans.

Grandmont Rosedale is a community of opportunity comprised of a diverse array of people. GRDC’s work is guided by the core values of community, collaboration, inclusion, integrity, innovation and sustainability. As such, we value the humanity of every neighbor, and believe all should be treated with respect and afforded equal opportunity to thrive.  We recognize the underlying systems of our society have a way to go to realize the vision and values we hold dear.

Each of us is responsible to educate ourselves about racism and racial inequality. Here is an excellent reading list to this end. We encourage you to learn more and use this education to move us toward a more just and equitable society.

If you are able, we also encourage you to support organizations that are working to achieve civil rights and equal justice for all. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Detroit Justice Center, a nonprofit that works alongside communities to create economic opportunities, transform the justice system, and promote equitable and just cities.
  • The Bail Project, a nonprofit that aims to mitigate incarceration rates through bail reform.
  • The NAACP Legal Defense Fund, which supports racial justice through advocacy, litigation, and education.
  • Communities United Against Police Brutality, which operates a crisis hotline where people can report abuse; offers legal, medical, and psychological resource referrals; and engages in political action against police brutality.

Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation is committed to supporting community change and healing.

In community,
