Enthusiastic young volunteers from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor will once again be fanning out across our neighborhood to perform a day of community service, “Detroit Partnership Day,” on Saturday, March 23, from 10 AM till 2:30 PM.
Numerous clean-up projects are planned throughout Grandmont Rosedale. Here’s the list of sites and site leaders – find the project that appeals to you and jump in!
- Stoepel Park Ball Diamonds – Rosedale Grandmont Little League will be raking up the leaves in the backstops and cleaning up the outfields. Westwood at Acacia. Contact Jim Dwight at 313-231-2245.
- Flintstone Park – Rosedale Park Improvement Association will be trimming trees, raking leaves, picking up trash. Rosemont at Acacia. Contact Dorothy Roman at 313-531-6641.
- Grandville Clean-Up – Grandmont #1 Improvement Association will be cleaning out vacant houses and garages, bagging up debris, and cutting grass. Grandville between Schoolcraft and Lyndon. Contact Annie Mae Holt at 313-615-6248.
- Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market – GRDC will be shoveling woodchips into the landscape beds and picking up litter and trash from the south parking lot at Bushnell Church. Southfield Service Drive at Tournier. Contact Pam Weinstein at 313-231-2244.
- Grandmont Rosedale Community Garden – Community gardeners will be repairing the gates and raised beds and building more woodchip paths. Archdale at Grand River. Contact Colleen McInerney at 313-538-6952.
