This Saturday, August 3rd from 3-9 PM Detroit’s northwest side will welcome the Sidewalk Festival of Performing Arts. The Sidewalk Festival is an outdoor celebration of site-specific performance and installation art, in the heart of Detroit’s Old Redford/Brightmoor Neighborhoods. The festival will take place in and around the courtyards, sculptures and gardens of Artist Village Detroit at Lahser and Grand River. The map can be found here.

The vision of Sidewalk Festival is to bring modern performance and art to neighborhoods all over Detroit. “Personally, I wanted to make Detroit’s modern performance scene more accessible to my family, who have lived in Grandmont for over 30 years. We are featuring over 30 artists from all over Detroit, NY and Chicago” said Ryan Myers-Johnson curator and founder of the Sidewalk Festival of Performing Art.

Sidewalk Festival is a grass root effort, be sure to support Detroit artists in your community. For more information please visit the website at www.sidewalkdetroit.com.
