The Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation’s, Youth Development Task Force has created a fantastic opportunity to enhance the artistic talents of our youth in the Grandmont Rosedale community. A creative arts summer program will run from June 25th until August 29th (Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:00 – 4:00 pm, and Thursdays from 6-8 pm) that will feature various artistic workshops and performances enabling young people to learn about and create various forms of art.

Workshops will include photography, recycled/found art, jewelry making, and many others, in addition to multiple workshops hosted by the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA). Participants will also tour and meet some of the most prominent and cutting edge members of Detroit’s art community.

The registration fee is only $10 dollars. In addition to art workshops, youth will also write, design, and produce their own artistic performance/play under the guidance of a Wayne State University theatre instructor! Registration forms can be found at the GRDC office or online at mygrandmontrosedale.org but registration is limited to 25 participants (ages 13-19), and is done on a “first come, first served” basis, so register today!
