Celebrate – or scorn – Valentine’s Day at Always Brewing Detroit’s Lovely Market from 5-9 on Thursday, Feb. 6. Vendors will be set up selling everything from chocolate truffles and lava cakes to cards for your Valentine.

The event will be similar to the very successful Northwest Detroit Holiday Market, with vendors selling their wares. However, this time vendors will be sharing the space with Always Brewing Detroit’s Thursday open mic – as ABD’s Amanda Brewington says, it’s an event showcasing creative people of all types.

The Vacant Property Task Force will also be at the event taking orders for its Valentine’s Day Rose Sale. For $5 per rose or $50 per dozen, GRDC will hand-deliver roses and a handmade card to anyone within the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods whose day you want to brighten – or you can deliver them yourself to anyone outside the neighborhood.

Other vendors include Chez Chloe, DC Grind, Eli Tea, Simply Honest, Sister Pie, 6 Mile Studios, Treats By Angelique and True Indulgence.

Sliders, savory pies, soups from Beautiful Soup and other items from Fresh Corner Cafe will be available for dinner options, and Always Brewing will be brewing and serving coffees from Chazzano Coffee Roasters.

Poet Thomas Williams will be performing at and hosting the open mic, so shoppers can enjoy the poetry with their Valentine or take the mic for a creative anti-Valentine’s Day rant.

Always Brewing Detroit is located at 19180 Grand River Avenue. For more information, call Always Brewing Detroit at 313-879-1102.
