The Knight Arts Challenge will hold its final town hall meeting on Friday, March 28 from 6-8pm at GRDC, 19120 Grand River, for those interested in applying for the Knight Arts Challenge grant.  The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is seeking to gather the best and most innovative ideas from local organizations and individuals who want to engage the Detroit community through the arts.  The three year, $9 million initiative is in its second year and has already supported several musicians, visual artists, dancers, and theater groups.  There is even a winner who uses reclaimed wood from abandoned homes to build guitars.  This meeting will be the last of five meetings in Detroit.  The application process and concept behind the challenge will be explained at the meeting.   Come and share your ideas about how the arts can change your community. Applications due April 7th.

You can go to the Knight Website HERE, view the application HERE or contact Erica Perdue at eperdue@bergmuirhead.com for more information.
