This fall, homeowners in the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods will have a chance to be part of an historic campaign to establish a Special Assessment District in our community. All five area neighborhood associations have voted to join the campaign and urge their members to support it too.

If enacted, the Special Assessment District would provide 24-hour, seven-day-a-week security patrols and snow removal for all residential streets and sidewalks — all for less than a dollar per day for area property owners.

Before a Special Assessment District can be created, however, at least 51% of property owners must sign a petition in support of the district. Dozens of volunteers will be needed to circulate petitions, host block meetings, canvas door-to-door and carry out many other essential tasks.

Sign up today to help create a safer and more vibrant community.  There will be a meeting at 6pm on Wednesday, September 30 at GRDC, 19800 Grand River, for volunteers interested in helping with the Special Assessment District Campaign to collect signatures from property owners. Food will be served.
