Grand River WorkPlace, located at 19120 Grand River, hosts numerous workshops and seminars throughout the year geared toward supporting small business growth. Here are a few upcoming events:

  • Grand Circus and Grand River WorkPlace are hosting a free Introduction to Coding Workshop. On Thursday, December 10 from 6 – 9pm at WorkPlace, attendees will learn programming foundations needed to eventually build a website or mobile app, whether you are a business owner or an aspiring software developer.   • ProsperUs Detroit will again offer a 20-week winter training session this February, 2016. The will be an information session for this training on Wednesday, January 27, and applications will be due Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
  • Great Lakes Women’s Business Council (Formerly known as CEED)

Great Lakes Women’s Business Council meets weekly at Grand River WorkPlace every Tuesday at 10am. Meet with GLWBC to discuss their non-traditional financing program at WorkPlace by signing up for their microloan orientation. Register online at www.miceed.org.

  • Detroit SCORE

SCORE has been mentoring new and existing businesses for over 40 years and has a network of over 13,000 volunteers who donate their time to help entrepreneurs. Detroit SCORE provides free consultations to new and existing businesses to help them grow their business. Consultations are held every Tuesday from 10am – 2pm.   • TechTown SWOT City

Sign up for a business consultation with Tech Town every third Wednesday of the month from 1pm-5pm. Register online at www.techtowndetroit.org.

  • Sadek Bonahoom Legal Strategy Sessions

NEW POP-UP COMING IN JANUARY

Trish’s Garage, the retail pop-up shop in Grand River WorkPlace, will be open for your holiday shopping needs through the end of December. According to Ebony Rutherford, her time in Grandmont Rosedale was “really helpful in developing community outreach strategies, and to get to know the community.” Get your loved ones something unique from Trish’s Garage and let owner Ebony know that she will be missed! Keep an eye out for the next pop-up in the retail space at the WorkPlace in January!
