Our city sidewalks will be busy sidewalks (at least the one along Grand River) this Thursday, Dec. 11 for the Grand River Winter Walk. Come shop, stroll and snack along Grand River from 5-9pm. Several vendors will be at Always Brewing Detroit, 19180 Grand River, offering a wonderful variety of locally made gifts. As every holiday shopper knows, shopping is most fun when it’s accompanied by holiday music. Allye Gaietto with her keyboard and beautiful voice, is just one of the musicians who will be at the Grand River Winter Walk. For those of you who have attended Always Brewing’s Open Mic Nights, you might recognize some other musicians this Thursday as well. Those of you who attended the Pancake Breakfast at the Community House last weekend might also recognize some of the carolers who agreed to share their holiday cheer. Just a couple of doors down at the Grand River WorkPlace, 19120 Grand River, you will find even more vendors offering more ways to check people off your holiday shopping list. Grandmont resident Yvette Jenkins’ Love Travels Imports will be open. Yvette’s selection of fair trade, imported and beautiful clothing and accessories is sure to make anyone happy. Come to the Grand River Winter Walk hungry because there will be a couple of food trucks at the Winter Walk with some delicious choices. Esto’s Garage will be on hand offering delicious Mexican food. Chicken Coupe will be there too with white bean chili, chicken and waffles, and coupe cones (a waffle cone stuffed with shredded barbeque chicken, shoestring fries, and slaw – all homemade).
