GRDC, 19800 Grand River Detroit, is hosting the Community Workshop to help Detroit homeowners complete the HPTAP application to find out of you qualify for the Poverty Tax Exemption. The Homeowner’s Property Tax Assistance Program (HPTAP) lowers City of Detroit property taxes for low-income homeowners. Please bring the following paperwork with you to the Oct. 21 Community Meeting:

Proof of Ownership: Deed, Land Contract, or Court Order

Proof of Residence: For everyone who lives in the home – current photo ID or driver’s license for all adults (+18) and a report card,m transcript, or healthcare record for all children (5 – 17)

Proof of Income: For everyone who lives in the home – 2016 Federal and/or state income tax return (if you filed) and W-2, paystubs, SSI/SSD statement, pension, food stamps award letter, etc.

Proof of Assets: Bank statement, 401K statement, insurance letters, etc.

Proof of Expenses: DTE and water bill, Wayne County Treasurer payment plan agreement, etc.
