Our Mission

Our Mission is to preserve and improve the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods of Detroit.

Our Vision

Grandmont Rosedale is a community of opportunity that draws a diverse array of people from across the region to shop, eat, start a business, buy a home, and build community.

The Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation (GRDC) is a non-profit, community based organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the Grandmont Rosedale communities of northwest Detroit. We organize a wide range of community improvement programs designed to help our community prosper as a place to live, work and play.

Our Programs

Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market –
The Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation organizes the Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market. The market will be back in the parking lot of the North Rosedale Park Community House, located at 18445 Scarsdale Street, Detroit, MI 48223. The North Rosedale Park Community House is located on a 7 acre park, just a short distance from the Southfield Freeway, Grand River Avenue, and Outer Drive. The Farmers’ Market features fresh fruits, vegetables, some meats, eggs, some cheeses, and baked goods produced or grown in southeast Michigan. The market is open every Thursday from 4-8 PM beginning the first Thursday in June through mid-October.

Home Renovation Program –

Commercial Revitalization –
GRDC works to support local businesses and encourage new businesses to locate within the Grandmont Rosedale community. Contact Chelsea Salame at chelsea@grandmontrosedale.com for more information.

Neighborhood Beautification –
Each year we organize hundreds of volunteers to pitch in and help keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful. Whether we are planting trees, cleaning up a park or painting over graffiti, we strive to keep our public spaces as beautiful as our houses.

Community Security Initiative
Safety is important to everyone, no matter where they live. GRDC is coordinating efforts to improve public safety across our five neighborhoods.

Vacant Property Maintenance and Code Enforcement
Working closely with resident volunteers, we monitor vacant homes in our community with the goal of ensuring that every property is properly maintained.
